Our CHRISTMAS Market: THIS SATURDAY!

IT'S HERE!!!!!

Our final market for 2013 is set to be our BIGGEST market ever.  With stalls spilling out onto the grass and courtyard, as well as inside, there will be plenty to see.  Do you have your Christmas list ready?  Because, this is the perfect place to tick it off and all whilst supporting local small businesses.  

Along with splendid hand made products, you'll also find gourmet food items, hot drinks and food, a place to sit down and soak in the atmosphere and cheerful Christmas tunes.  

See you on Saturday.  

A spring market

Spring weather is my favourite - sunny skies but still a hint of crisp air around. It's the perfect weather for a market.

Join us at our next market on October 5th!

Applications Due 15th June!

The second round of applications for The Barn Market are due in by Saturday 15th June! The application will go before the panel in the week or so following this and outcomes will be indicated by the end of June!  Successful applicants will be allocated a minimum of one market for the remainder of the year.

Please note; some categories of products (such as jewellery and children's products) are now in abundance at The Barn Market. In order to avoid over saturation of any one product type, some applications may be declined if they are too similar to another/other stallholders already existing in the pool.  In addition to this, some successful applicants in such categories will be placed on a waiting list to contact if a current stall holder from the same category ceases to participate.  Thank you for your understanding on this tricky matter.

A few happy snaps and the countdown begins...

Our Autumn Spectacular Market in March was a HUGE hit and the weather was spectacular.  We had a fantastic turn out and the atmosphere created by having most of our stalls outside was very festive.  There was music provided by local musicians inside the Barn as well as a place to sit and enjoy food and drink. Yes, it was a great day!

In 3 weeks time, we'll hold our Mothers Day Market with plenty of choice for your last minute gifts.  We'll also have Urban Bounty, the Yum Yum Van and Cafe Mio back to provide mouth-watering drinks and hot food to fill your bellies and make you smile.  We're also excited to introduce another collection of new stallholders presenting their products for the very first time.  Stay tuned for more information, and don't forget to put the date in your diary!  Keep an eye on our facebook page for a promo of the stallholders that will be involved.

Time to get excited!

With less than 2 weeks to go until our first market of the year, things are beginning to get exciting.  It's all coming together and there is an amazing spectrum of makers on board this time around.

With a bit of a different twist this time around, we'll be spread right around the glorious Rosny Farm grounds creating a very festive feel.  More details to come soon.....

First round of applications due...

The first round of applications for new stall holders close on Sunday 27th January 2013.  If you wish to apply, please email thebarnmarket@gmail.com to request an application kit.

Also, we are very keen to hear from anyone interested in busking at our markets.  We are particularly interested in solo artists or small groups who provide upbeat background music that would be appropriate for a shopping environment.  Please get in touch with us - we would love to chat to you.

Our first market for the year will be held on Saturday, 2nd March from 10:00 - 3:00.  This market will be a little different from usual in that it will be held entirely outside taking up every last inch of outside area.  We will not be utilising The Barn at all, but rather creating an Autumn Festival Atmopshere; very exciting.  Stay tuned for more details soon...

It's that time of year again...

Well, the countdown is on and the preparations are in full swing.  In 2 and a half weeks, The Barn Market will hold it's bumper Christmas Market.  As usual, we'll be chock-o-block with all of your favourite stallholders who will be bursting at the seams with plenty of goodies to stuff your Christmas stockings with.  The Barn Market is your one-stop Christmas shopping stop.  Put it in your diary.  We can't wait to see you there...

'Christmas in July' Twilight Market

Our annual special event; 'Christmas in July' Twilight Market is coming up.

We'd like to draw your attention to the competitions we'll be running on the night.  You won't want to miss these as winners will receive a hamper full of stallholder goodies.

1) Create the best decoration: Design your own paper star decoration (no bigger than 15cm's diameter).  On the back, write your name, email address and either 'under 16' or 'over 16'.  Bring it along and hang it up in the entryway (we'll provide a hole puncher and string).  The best decoration from each age group will win a prize.

2) Vote for the best presented stall:  Our stallholders have exquisite products that they hand make and design right here in Tasmania, and this time we've asked them to go all out and present their wares with a a bit of Christmas cheer.  You chose the best presented stall - nothing too cheesy, just a little something to make you feel merry and bright and add a little christmas cheer to your night.  Someone who votes for the stallholder with the most points will win a prize - and the stallholder who is voted 'best stall' of the night will also win a prize.

You've got to be in it to win it.  See you there...

Magazine appearance...

Wow, you can now find The Barn Market in your local newsagent.  Well, kind of - check out the latest edition of Handmade magazine, as there is a lovely little write-up about The Barn Market featuring an array of photos taken at our February 2012 market; a great coverage of many of the products you'll find on offer when you visit the market.  Plus, for those of you who want to do some making of your own, there are heaps of projects you can have a go at, including; doorstops, quilts, jewellery and knitting, etc. Check out our plug on pages 44 and 45; brilliant!

 

Plus, check out the great review of The Barn Market by Jane (one of our ultra-cruzy buskers) as she describes her experience at the market on The Market Angel blog.  What a delightful summary of our little market.

It's that time of year again; yep, our second and final round of applications for 2012 go before the panel this Friday (15th June), so if you are keen get them in now!  Warning; we are overflowing with interested stallholders so its getting more and more competitive and the Barn only has limited room!!!

And, here is the first of many plugs for our oh-so-popular, back-by-popular-demand, 'Christmas in July' Twilight market.  Held on 6th July from 4:00 - 8:00 this market will have a special christmassy touch with more exciting details to be announced shortly.  Keep an eye out - this is one NOT to be missed.

Australia Day Awards 2012

We are proud and excited to announce that The Barn Market has been awarded the Clarence City 'Community Event of the Year' for 2011! Hooray!! Check out a few photos from the awards ceremony below.

I'd like to say a big thank you to Miriam who started out with me in The Barn Market venture back in 2010!! It's been an amazing ride and the market continues to grow; it's very exciting!

Well, we're back for another year at The Barn Market, and this year Sonia from Sunday's Child will be helping co-ordinate the event; very happy to have her! We also have a new facebook page that works a little bit better for us, so would love it if you could help spread the word.

Fantastic Finale!

Well, that wraps up our Barn Markets for 2011 and what a final market it was!!! Thank you to our very loyal customers and those who have just discovered The Barn Market for the first time. We really appreciate your messages of support and encouragement and love that you think the market is 'just right' and fits in perfectly on the Eastern Shore.

We'll be back in 2012 with dates to be released very shortly. In the meantime, we wish you a fun-filled and relaxing festive season.
